Pointers

So with the rule that going to pointers is implied there is a little thing i want clarified. When the floor is lava and a pointer is placed you go to it even if its on the floor because it overrides, But when leaving the red pointer is restricted and a blue pointer is placed then we go to it because it overrides. If going to blue pointers was restricted then we would not. So stop killing people when that happens. i want to hear if this is correct.

that is a good point however it works like this:
Placing a pointer is in fact an order, but there are two different restrictions here, leaving the red pointers is restricted, and floor is lava. Floor is lava is an order and a restriction, but when we place a pointer (implying to go to it) we have to go to it even if it is on the ground because of the implication. If we state that leaving the red pointers is restricted and place a blue pointer the restriction overrides it because we are restricting to not go to the SPECIFIC pointers

There is also nothing stating in the rules a clarification of this
I do believe this is how it works, any SA+ can correct me if I am wrong

I think you are right buddy, placing a pointer is clearly with the new rule exactly the same as telling someone to go to somewhere  even though leaving something is restricted, they both override it.

we should honesty just remove restricting leaving pointers (or at least remove restricting leaving certain colored pointers)


I believe this would prevent depop as some CTs just kill for having a hair out of the stack


and I believe the restriction of  colored pointers are just another version of Simon says as if someone takes a step out of the stack but doesn’t realize it’s the wrong pointer they get shot instantly


that’s just my opinion tho

don’t know if the Simon says part makes sense but yeah

This was very unnecessary to be honest, I think this thread is perfectly fine.

I agree with you drago of the dread, I can even go so far as to say that doing shit like restricting not leaving pointers or going to certain colours is loopholing the new rule of pointer = go.

Restrictions are always overridden with direct commands from warden such: “Standing is restricted” and then he says “bum rush to etc..”. It has always been that way and there is 0 reason for it to change as it will just cause more confusion. Now with it being implied to go to pointers that the warden places we might have to think about completely reworking what you can restrict. I don’t see any good reason other than point farming for a toxic warden to actually use the “going to etc.. pointer is restricted”. It doesn’t benefit the round in any way and it’s pretty annoying.

Alright man you won this one, you might have completely disregarded the point that I said both placing a pointer and telling someone to go somewhere are exactly the same but you put up a strong argument.
