Maybe it's not a bad idea
« on: April 05, 2019, 08:40:15 am »
sure shoot it down, be rude about it, flex, do what u need to do. but I just had a suggestion.

With the amount of rules Tango enforces, and the fact that communities in general are not as popular as they used to be, why does tango not downsize its departments, staff, servers, and even total member count.

Go down to a smaller, more tight nit community. Have purges based on activity, and of course personal preference, since that will be impossible to avoid conflict of interest.

Maybe Tango does not have to expand to something huge, and keep having these asperations of being the number one community dont have to happen. Even this goes aginest everything I feel about how I personally do things, why not just be complacent in being where we are. We are a well established community well known thourgh the CSGO community, GMOD, and maybe some more games.

Im not saying it's giving up, but im also saying, if we keep setting these expetations so high then we will never get anywhere. And will be constantly let down. Sometimes it would be nice to feel like we have some actual control of the community we're apart of, and it could bring back that feeling of everyone knowing everyone.

Just a thought. Hate it if you want. Be edgy about it, whatever, just try to apply some crititcal thinking skills to this. I know Tango can't go on forever, and this idea might be able to reduce the workload the community provides, while also increasing it's longevity.

Sorry for typos/mis-spelling. Wrote this on a crappy laptop computer, and I suck as spelling.

This is the only community from my experience that has had a tightly-knit foundation and actually had an entertainment value behind it.

Seems like some Staff ruined that by pushing their agendas of enforcing punishments to the extreme, so new players outside of the community could come in and experience a squeaky clean version of Tango servers for themselves.

Shameful.

I understand the idea of the post, and it definitely works for a while, however I've been in other communities that tried this approach, that had less staff and less members, each of them eventually dying because people just become inactive over time.

I personally like the way tango is at the moment, however the idea for change definitely couldn't hurt.

Sorry to see ya go Charlie, you're a good person and and a good friend. Hopefully you'll stay active on Bhop and in ts with me mate

Even if he was intending this on being a malicious post or a troll post, it still does pose a serious question and does bear some legitimacy as a thought that could benefit TangoWorldWide.

I'd been intending to make a response to this for a while, never got around to it. @Rez

Tango has downsized tremendously, in case you haven't noticed. We have one Garry's Mod server now, we also had Novice Members purged, from 400-500 to something like 250.

We're just attempting to re-expand in directions that look promising, such as Minecraft and Runescape, with whatever capacity we can have.

You're right, communities have started to die down with time. This is likely due to the increase in other video game genres. We're just doing the best we can.
You can safely assume that I'm sleep deprived at all times.

-neutral never seen you or talked to you, but judging from the comments imma give you -neutral lean towards vouch :D

@zook. No I am not trying to get closed by bumping a thread I made two weeks ago. That would quite literally prove my point.

@oyob And thanks, I like your assessment. Sometimes things just kinda fall out. A good example is Skype, Skype was probably the most popular forum of communication between people in most PC games before it kinda just fell out, granted that one had a lot more contributing factors, it I think it serves as a good example.
