Nowadays, I will say, we have a lot more drama, a lot more people being at each other's throats, and a lot of problematic people trying to drive people away. But that's the price for having a large and extensive community.
I feel that Tango can be too lenient when it comes to permanent bans, as they're rarely actually permanent.
Change that and actually ban people that cause problems, just ban them.
Do that and the toxicity will drop, people will actually be scared and watch what they say and if they still cant get their shit together then ban them.
I don't see why this is so hard to implement.

I’ll take a crack at this, even though I’m not registered by choice.

The short answer for me is that I enjoy the majority of tango players. I can only think of 1 person I actually have a problem with, then 1 more by extension. Pretty sure everyone knows who I’m talking about lmfao

As far as the “shit community” goes, for me personally tango has lost the community aspect of the organization. @Mars touched on it and said my thoughts pretty well. But ever since the whole “business” aspect was introduced it’s been more about who you know rather than how well you know them. (From my point of view) there’s a group in tango who thinks they’re above everyone and never talks to other people, they dominate events by saying they have the power to remove people “being idiots” aka having fun. And if you’re not in that group you’re SOL

So even though I don’t believe it’s too far gone, tango has almost completely lost the community aspect, even in teasmspeak, people just aren’t as friendly as they used to be. One of my favorite things to do on teasmspeak is join channels with people I’ve never talked too. I’ve done this with so many people and it’s a great way to keep the community aspect going. But to many people lock them selves in private channels and it competitive defeats the purpose of being in a “community”.

TLDR tango has lost the community aspect almost completely

Hope that can give some insight @Vita

Thanks for the insight.

Over the next couple months I'll probably start chipping at an idea to bring some of the light back into this. It's just been tough lately IRL.

Tango's always been a community I've taken pride into working with, and I'd like to start seeing others feel the same away again.

:)
