Tango is dead because there isn’t enough players who actually want to save it.
Doesn’t take much but people want to complain about it being dead without contributing anything, all it costs is time to actually play the servers but most people don’t want to spend a half hour on the servers alone just to have no one join.
wasn't going to reply until this one, thanks red, actually appreciated this
it is a catch-22 on a lot of different fronts....
- a lot of our staff are growing up, many of us in the last TWO years especially (biggest decline), have transitioned from uni to full time jobs... we do not have the time we once did
- some of our players have moved on or grown past
- csgo does not bring in as many new players, thus less people accessing servers, numbers in go down
- inactive development
- i would actually argue in general our communication was pretty decent, we went through a lot of efforts and were super communicative at most times, as far as communication -> implementation, this loops back to development
- lack of staff willing to contrib
- lack of players willing to 'step up'
the staff were players once, they were just passing by too. anyone can step up, someone can maybe one day take tango from me? just someone has to go and try and start doing it and rebuilding and making success here. we can't do it alone. theres some plans going very slowly, not sure if/when theyll see light... depends on a few internal things. a few recent discussions looked promising for some new internal help. if we get help internally from our existing staff this can cause an uptick. new people is everything, someone to step in and say 'hey let me run this, ill give it my best shot'. not just run their mouth.
majorly, above all else, you look at the very top.
I am most to blame for Tango's downfall. I let it slip so far on the back-burner, regardless of the reason, to it came second-third-fourth-fifth, to almost out of my mind these last few months. Granted, I had a lot go on, and constant flame or push back from troubled player(s) 100% contributed to this mentality. This being said, started a new job soon, and I'd like to do something fun again. Maybe it'll be tango. Who knows, a reply like the one
@Red just made gives me hope, and 3 things just got added to my weekend to-do. That time was dedicated to something else, but maybe a few hours back here doesn't seem so bad.
Hope this helps.
