your time as a donor admin has demonstrated that you are competent when it comes to using admin commands, and with experience and time i'm sure you'll become a good addition to the roster

General Discussion / Re: The Concept of Existence

you had me until pre-determined destiny. I don't believe in destiny or fate, due to simply the randomness and amount of... chaos and factors that go into everything we do

I personally don't believe in destiny and fate too, but I don't think we can discount the possibility that maybe the randomness and chaotic nature of the world we inhabit may be pre determinted.
What if the chaos of our world was pre-determined and the illusion of "choice" that we would have when it comes to making desicions is simply destiny.

When you pick between eating an apple and a banana, and you like bananas more but you decide this time to eat an apple, did you really outplay fate or was you changing your mind all a part of fate?

People seem to have this misconception that escalation has a day cooldown on it. If you're constantly causing issues, you're not immune after a day or a week.

I understand that communication between admins is the main issue, that everyone can't know exactly how many problems a certain person is causing, and this is the part of escalation that hopefully can be fixed.

The main problem is the joke ban times than basically slap repeat rulebreakers on the wrist.
I personally believe escalation should be turned into a guideline, rather than something admins must follow

I'm here to talk about the recent massive drop in JB pop and the increase in calladmins as well as lack of faith/trust of administrators by server players, and how this all may be connected.
First of all, I've been a JB player since 2016 summer, and I've been in and out of tango with long months of inactivity, hopping back and forth during different times, but one thing that has remained consistent for all those years is the system that handicaps administrators and effectively makes them useless.

As of currently, the escalation system is absolute dogshit and does nothing but protect rule breakers, and even just say, "you know what, you can break rules every other 2 or 3 days and not get banned because admins have to first warn, then kick, then ban you for a laughable ban time of 15 to 30 minutes"

I do not know what the original intention of this system is, but all I know is that it has never been effective in dealing with rulebreakers and troublemakers on the servers, in fact, the escalation system has only told admins that if they "overstep their boundaries" for daring to skip escalation and ban someone instead of going through an absoloutely dogshit procedure, they will get in trouble. I have never, ever, in my whole time of being a part of Tango, ever heard someone praise the escalation system, other than people who do not have to deal with troublemakers on the server on a daily basis, and do not know how frustratingly ineffective it is to the admin team. Ironically these same people happen to either be the rulebreakers that exploit this system themselves, or higher ups who do not have to follow escalation.

In an ironic way, "The Admin Handbook" in it's current state hampers an administrator's ability to maintain a server with no rulebreakers, and punishes that same administrator with the fear of an admin report if they went straight for a ban when common sense would dictate that this person should know better, should not be slayed, verbally warned or kicked as this garbage system recommends, but should be straight up banned.

How does this connect to low population?

Think about this, would you like to play on a server when you get killed a few rounds by a toxic CT who's really just out to get you, only for an admin to just slay/swap them and not CTBan them and get their ass out of CT for some time for being actual dickheads?

Would you even bother reporting someone on the forums for intentionally freekilling you if you knew that it would take you more time to obtain the evidence than he would spend off CT?

These problems loop into each other, and when small-scale rulebreaking is so incredibly common, players get frustrated, and go to other servers where admins are allowed to use the powers that they have been granted and trusted with.

The solution?

I've already talked to @Philly @Dragonate @Noah. about this, and I am glad that they actually listened and are trying to change the current escalation system. I hope this change would allow admins more room for leniency, and make sure that Tango has a smaller amount of rulebreakers and an escalation system / handbook that actually aides admins and tells them how to deal with situations and what bans would be recommended, not what bans they MUST follow or else they are liable to be reported on the forums and have their admin removed.

The reason I've made this thread is to shed more light on this subject and allow for players to also discuss their frustrations with the current punishment system, so that we also get to see their perspective and how they feel about this certain topic.

If we do not trust our admins to be fair and just when there is a proper vetoing system and a way to pick quality people, as well as a way to keep admins accountable (demos -> admin abuse reports), and instead must handicap them in order to prevent the "possibility" of them abusing, then I cannot find the logic in us even having admins in the first place.

catch me mfking and ruining the event

if i can't get the chocola noone can

Appeals / Re: 6 hour ban for my name, "6 hour ban".

hello, i am banning admin

you and your friend were banned for constant harassment and toxicity, after you were warned that you were going to get banned you clearly did not want to listen to what was a simple warning, so i decided to ban you because you seemed to be adamant on not only targeting ldcommish, but other players also.

if anything you should be grateful for your short ban time.

anyway, here's some things i decided to drop down below, you know, since you decided to leave out some important details.

Reason you were banned: Harassment
Please explain what happened leading up to the ban: I changed my name to: "Definitely". Later, I changed my name to "6 hour ban".
Why do you think you should be unbanned: I just changed my name.

not fully acquainted with the rulebook, so go over the rules and make sure you know them
you sometimes are unable to handle situations precisely because of your shaky knowledge of server rules
learn to not engage with conflicts with other members of the community, as i have seen you done so with other donor admins in the past, and have even seen you unjustifiably use commands on them.

otherwise you're a good kid, just gotta work on some stuff
