make some ginger turmeric tea

I'd vouch for this.

Stick to natural remedies such as tea, using humidifiers or vaporizers, and drink plenty of water to naturally de-clog your sinuses.

Most over-the-counter nasal sprays do the job but they are steroid-based and it's never a good idea to use too much corticosteroids long-term since they can cause a number of side effects and conditions. The same goes with antihistamines or other drugs.

Topical vicks is not a decongestant. It might make you feel alright for the time being but it doesn't do anything to get rid of your congestion.

Sinus congestion could be due to many different reasons like allergies, sinusitis, or just cold. And most of the treatments differ from one another.

TLDR: Go to a doctor so they can diagnose you and offer you a proper treatment, otherwise stick to natural remedies.

Is there a source for this? I've never been told anything like this by my GP when I've been told to get nasal sprays and I used/continue to use antihistamines daily for my allergies and I don't believe I've ever had any issues or side effects

Antihistamines block the H1 receptors which are located in the brain so they decrease cognitive capabilities, make you slow, sluggish and give you nausea/headache. The side-effects are minimal until/unless you take more than you should per day. Regardless, they still do all of this at such a rate that you wouldn't realize. But in the end, they're still doing harm on top of the good they do.

Corticosteroid medications are steroid-based. They raise your blood pressure, increase blood sugar levels. And it's especially worse if you have diabetes. Oh and they also are known to cause weight gain.

I tend to think big pharmas are in bed with doctors and they make you spend way more money on medication than you need to. Not realizing the long-term harm they do to your body.
