Hello jolly good tango friends I have an update on my oyster mushrooms!
Inoc’d on Nov 24 and kinda forgot about them, when I checked on New Years I got a contaminated bag, all 12 bags were stalled for like 2 months because I was too lazy to get a heater. 2 nights ago I started sub colonization, took the remaining 11 bags and mixed with coco coir witch I think was a little too wet. I’ll let the sub colonize for probably 5 more days then start fruiting in an Unmodified ~80QT monotub. I would rate these oysters a solid B+. Any tips for fruiting would be mush appreciated ty - lardÿ. I might send an eighth dried to somebody, since I have a shitass rep I’ll use a middle man I got shipping. An eighth is the perfect amount for a tasty lemon juice marinated risotto. I may be an asshole but I’m not gon do shit to them people who lace drugs are fags.

Your favorite person lardy here, I have some questions about growing oyster mushrooms
1. When letting the spawn colonize the substrate, should there be absolutely no airflow or should there be a small hole covered in micropore tape. Im using a container where once the lid is closed there will be 0 airflow.
2. After introducing fruiting conditions, how often should I fan? I have a container that's probably around 12QTs, I can't find how often to fan and remove the co2, some say 3/day others say once a day. Will overfaning hurt the mushrooms?
3. How do I maintain surface conditions when the mushrooms are fruiting, I don't want to drown the myc but I also don't want the mushrooms to be too dry
4. How do I know when the vile is about to break?
I can't wait to have fresh, pan-fried oyster mushrooms
