so basically, i got a new computer a few days ago, and recently, i've noticed that my blue snowball mic sounds like shit. i don't know if its the computer or the microphone, but I will most likely find out as I am going to wipe my old one to sell soon. once i find out i'll edit, but if anyone knows how to fix it, then yeah.

basically it sounds muffled, it used to sound pretty good. if you were active on jb about a month and a half ago you'd know what it sounds like.

EDIT: Thank you everyone for your responses! I have found out how to fix this issue! Finally :D

Basically, if anyone else is suffering this issue, if you go into control panel, sound, recording, right click on your microphone, click properties, go to advanced, and then where it says 'Default format' change that to 48000 Hz (DVD Quality)

Could be the microphone, usb port or software.

Make sure to check if it still works on other computers, if it does you can try another usb port. If you still haven't found what causes it, go look in your settings and use your friend, my friend, everyone's friend!

@KP I have tried switching the USB to every possible USB, and all of them sound the same.

Try the microphone on a different computer, if it sounds the same the problem is your microphone, if it sounds normal the problem is software related. In the first case, buy a new mic and in the second case use google.

Try some drivers, but at the same time check whether its a phsyical problem or just the way your computer is. Have you tried plugging it into different USB ports?

@KP Yeah, I'm gonna be wiping my old PC to sell on Sunday I believe. Once I do that I'll set up the mic and see how it sounds.

@Fantaisie I've tried plugging it in to every USB Port that I have

Thanks to everyone for the suggestions! :)

@cool kid kylo You gotta download all the software and make sure it's the latest version and then go to sounds -> recording -> make sure blue snowball is enabled -> right click on it -> go to properties -> adjust the levels.
