When lulu took over the
Community Director position, we promised that we would be less likely to ban users for causing disruptions or violating rules in our network. Unfortunately, as time went on with jordan deploying, lulu becoming busy with work, and me wrapping up my final year as a MSc student -- we became more likely to just blanket-ban to solve issues in the network.
Lulu has since decided it is time to step aside and let new talent take over the
Community Director.
@loo ★ will be joining Ownership officially today as the
Community Director! I am
extremely excited to formally invite him to our team. He has been a huge asset over the last several years, and I am excited to see where he goes from here!
As of today, I am reversing a lot of bans in the last 6-12 months. If you have been banned from our network and reading this post, you can reach out via discord to myself (tjbalon#0306), and I will do my best to remedy the situation. This includes bans prior to 12 months ago.
We are no longer going to be blanket-banning as a solution to dealing with our problem, regardless of how busy times are. It is uneffective, puts a strain on friendships for those that want to stay in the community, and overall is displeasing to have to do.
